Section 2 · Prerequisites

The first principle mentioned in this hadith is الطَّهَارَة (aṭ-ṭahāra), ritual purity, on which the validity of what follows depends.

لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ

“Allah does not accept prayer without purity.”

So, uh… the Prophet ﷺ, he said, you know: “لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ” So, yeah, no prayer without ṭahāra.

Light touch

The Prophet ﷺ said: “لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ”. No prayer without ṭahāra.

Literary

The Prophet ﷺ put it in these words: “لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ”. Purity is the first condition of prayer.
