Two languages in one sentence, with nothing lost
Studying abroad means lessons where Arabic and another language intertwine. Standard tools omit or distort the Arabic; we restore it accurately.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى
(innamā l-aʿmālu bi-n-niyyāt wa-innamā li-kulli mriʾin mā nawā)
“Actions are judged by intentions, and every person will have what they intended.”
He then read the verse:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ
“O you who believe, when you rise for prayer, wash your faces…” (Quran 5:6)
He explained that this is why intention comes before purification.
The Prophet said: innama la3mal binniyet and each person will have what they… [inaudible Arabic passage]. The sheikh then read the verse: ya ayyuha alladhina amanu idha qumtum ila salat… [unclear]. He repeated the hadith once more in Arabic [inaudible] and moved on.

Islamic terms handled with care
The Arabic is kept as written, with transliteration and translation added for smooth reading.
الطَّهَارَة (aṭ-ṭahāra), ritual purity, is a condition of الصَّلَاة (aṣ-ṣalāt, prayer). The shaykh added that الغُسْل (al-ghusl) or التَّيَمُّم (at-tayammum, dry ablution) can replace it when water is unavailable, and that the intention remains required in every case. The document likewise distinguishes الزَّكَاة (az-zakāt, almsgiving), الصَّدَقَة (aṣ-ṣadaqa, voluntary charity) and الرِّبَا (ar-ribā, usury) whenever they appear.
Tahara is a condition of salat, like wudu before praying. The sheikh added that ghusl or tayammum can replace it when water is unavailable, and that niyya remains required in every case. He also referred to zakat, sadaqa and riba as if the terms were interchangeable.

Honorific formulas in the right places
The customary formulas for Allah ﷻ, the prophets, the Companions and scholars are added automatically.
The Prophet ﷺ said, according to Abū Bakr ﵁, that Allah ﷻ loves consistency in good deeds. ʿĀʾisha ﵂reported a similar wording, and ʿUmar ﵁ acted on it during his caliphate. Imam an-Nawawī ﵀ devotes a chapter to this hadith, and Ibn Ḥajar ﵀ comments on it in detail. Imam Mālik ﵀ transmits the report, Imam ash-Shāfiʿī ﵀ draws a legal principle from it, and Ibn Taymiyya ﵀ returns to it in his discussion of intention.

a. Ritual purity
The first principle mentioned in this chapter is ritual purity, on which the validity of what follows depends. The teacher begins with its definition, then lists its conditions one by one.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ
“O you who believe, when you rise for prayer, wash your faces…” — Quran 5:6
He then explains when water may be replaced by dry ablution, and closes the section with the questions asked by the students.
